RS are at the forefront of innovation, design and construction. A world-class design team and key partners are appointed to research and develop a new product. Sketch lines and concepts turn into working prototypes with the help of state-of-the-art Computer Aided Design. These prototypes then go through months of continued development and evaluation.
The RS Sailboat Range has something for everyone- recreational sailing, training or racing. Many of the boats can be used for all
different types of sailing, making them appealing to the passionate racer, who also wants to take the family sailing on a Sunday.
About RS Sailing
RS Sailing is proud to have been at the cutting edge of the small sailboat world for the past 2 decades.
Founded in England, RS Sailing is now a global brand with representation in over 50 countries.
In North America and Europe the RS brand is continually gaining recognition with sailors, sailing clubs, sailing schools, beach operations, programs and federations; both national and regional.
The RS Aero ignites the excitement of sailing in its least complicated form – complex thinking leading to beautiful simplicity. It is affordable and, with RS Sailing’s global distribution network its huge potential is already happening. Hundreds of boats have been ordered across the world, production is underway and every week more sailors discover the RS Aero exceeds most expectations.
The RS Aero is the product of three years of design and development, testing four different hull variations and numerous rig, foil and layout options – resulting in a boat that RS Sailing is confident is the most technically advanced in its sector.
The RS Aero completely re-sets the standard for pure exhilaration in a simple single-hander. Ultra-light weight means the hull form and rigs need not be extreme, so the RS Aero is remarkably easy to handle.
Light weight makes the RS Aero exceptionally user-friendly on shore: Virtually anyone can lift the boat – pulling it up the beach makes you smile – and simplicity means the boat can be rigged in moments.
High tech materials are used in the composite epoxy foam sandwich hull, with carbon fibre in high load areas and in the spars. Astonishingly, the RS Aero hull weighs just 30kg.
RS CAT 16
The RS CAT16 is a recent addition to the RS range and their first catamaran. It is easy to handle, highly durable and exciting, with rig options for novices through to experienced cat sailors.
With significant technical developments in key structural aspects of the boat, the RS CAT16 not only looks modern, it also incorporates important practical benefits.
The hulls and beams are secured without holes through the skin of the boat – so the boat can be assembled or taken apart in around 15 minutes without need for sealant, using just one spanner. Bolts securing the beams and shrouds secure into stainless steel bars located in channels on either side of the hulls. Exceptionally strong, simple and fast assembly.
The RS CAT16 can be stored in restricted space.
